Family
Starting from Bid Day up until Initiation, new girls and members of Kappa Alpha Theta start to form new and stronger bonds with one another. Family is a large focus for the community of Kappa Alpha Theta. Ideally, families are meant to help new girls transition and feel a sense of community within the house. Additionally, they make the overwhelming amount of girls within the house seem smaller.
Mom and Dots
Each new member receives a mom in the house, which is an older girl from the pledge class ahead of them, who are normally sophomores. The new member receives a mom in order to have a source of guidance since they were in new girls' shoes just the year before. Additionally, like many mom and daughter relationships, a Theta mom and daughter's bond is just as strong as any other. I am able to go to my Theta mom for companionship, a laugh, advice, or any questions that may cross my mind.

Aunts and Cousins
An aunt would be the twin of your mom, which would also be the mom of your cousins. Having an aunt allows another network of people to turn to.

My large Theta family starting from my grandma to my mom and aunt. My family then breaks off into myself, twin, and cousins.
Twin Stars
A new members Twin Star is normally a girl from the pledge class that is two years ahead, usually a Junior in the house. They are another source of guidance and provides even more knowledge of their experiences as a member of Theta. Listed below are my Twin Star and twin. Hannah and I share the same Twin Star, Alison Olsen, who we are able to look for guidance whenever our moms are not around. An interesting fact is that the two twin stars on Thetas pins stand for Light and Truth.

Big and Lil'
A new members Big Sis would be a senior in the house. Big Sis's are very inspirational due to their many achievements throughout their college career. This being their last year in the fraternity gives them a lot of experience being on campus and also being apart of the fraternity. Additionally, they are another source of guidance and encourage new members to strive for success. Depicted in the picture below is my Big and twin.
