Members of Kappa Alpha Theta at their sponsored philanthropy supporting CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates)
Data Collection
A short description of each topic of my data collection is provided on this page, which is further explained on the tabs extending from the side bar.
Observations
I observed Kappa Alpha Theta on a Monday night during a house meeting, which are formal weekly meetings where members dress in pin attire. Theta differs from other houses because they do not have a Chapter room and therefore do not have Chapter meetings and instead have weekly house meetings. Kappa Alpha Theta members therefore meet in the 'Big Room', living room, of the house.
Interviews
I interviewed two members of the Alpha Chi Chapter of Kappa Alpha Theta. Alison Olsen, Junior, was my first interviewee along with Hannah Hendricks, Freshman, as my second. I asked them a series of questions about how they felt about Kappa Alpha Theta and their involvement as a three year member and a new member.
Surveys
Through a house email, I sent a survey through wwwsurveymonkey.com where I asked six different questions about how members of the Alpha Chi Chapter felt about the importance of history, professionalism, and family when associated with Theta. I also asked members to give free responses about what they thought of Kappa Alpha Theta at Purdue.
